Engen  (0.03 MB)

Engen Petroleum celebrated a major milestone on 2 June 2016 when it opened its 600th Quickshop at Rivershorse Valley Convenience Centre in Durban. And while South Africa’s leading petroleum brand* currently operates 600 Quickshops, they are also soon to launch their 70th Woolworths Food Stop. Elsewhere, Engen plans continued network growth going forward.

As the fuel company which pioneered forecourt convenience locally, Engen’s commitment to supporting motorists and consumers in South Africa has created employment in over 600 communities.

The promise of a great brand
“We want to thank our loyal customers who are the reason we have reached this great milestone. When our customers visit an Engen forecourt, our promise is  to provide great customer service, exciting retail convenience partnerships, and fuels that offer both performance and economy,” says Joe Mahlo, General Manager: Engen Sales & Marketing.

Mahlo adds that Engen ensures it delivers on the company’s enduring brand promise of ‘With us you are Number One’ by developing products and offering services that resonate in the hearts and minds of customers. “For the past 23 years, Engen has delighted the South African consumer consistently with a host of innovative convenience partnerships and exceptional customer service.”

Service and innovation
Mahlo says the company will continue to build on its winning strategy by seeking new innovations and tailoring its offerings to specific market segments.

“Customer service remains a key determinant of success in our industry, so while we’ll continue to focus on training our forecourt staff to provide fantastic service, we will also continue the roll out of our signature convenience offerings across our network. This includes fast food and restaurant partnerships, coffee, alternate payment partnerships and a range of other innovations, including our latest Butcher’s Best Biltong Bars.”

Sustained success
Tasneem Sulaiman-Bray, Engen’s General Manager: Corporate Affairs, says Engen’s sustained success shows that the brand is building an enduring legacy.

“We are constantly looking for new ways to remain relevant and top of mind”, she says. “We are honoured by the enduring endorsements from motorists and their excitement for the fantastic innovations that we continue to bring to the market.” Sulaiman-Bray attributes this success to Engen’s firm commitment to make a difference in people’s lives. “Engen is always looking to help people explore new horizons and new experiences. Whether it is through our various sports sponsorships, maths and science education programmes, or the quality products and services we offer on our forecourts, as a company Engen is with you on your journey.”

Best value, best offerings
Mahlo says the company is committed to continuing to build the Engen brand in South Africa.

“We believe that we provide the best service, the best value and the best convenience offerings to South African motorists and consumers. As Engen, we look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come,” concludes Mahlo.  On offer at Rivershorse Valley Convenience Centre is a diverse range of products and services, which include a Quickshop and Wimpy. As part of the celebration, customers can get their coffee fix and enjoy some great opening price specials. So come and join the party!
