TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – NYSE- and TSX-listed Endeavour Silver Corp on Monday reported that a miner had died at its El Cubo mine, in Guanajuato state, Mexico, just more than a week after a worker died at its Porvenir Cuatro mine, part of the Guanacevi mine operations in Durango state.

The Vancouver-headquartered company said that three of its mines would shut down for two days each of safety training. It would also hire safety experts to review the company’s safety programmes and implement their recommendations.

The two mineworkers were killed in underground rock falls. Last September, another rock fall killed a worker and in April a contractor died in an accident at the El Cubo mine.

Endeavour said that it was ahead of its production plan for the year, and that the mine closures would not affect output guidance.

Endeavour Silver’s TSX-listed stock on Monday closed down 1.65% at C$4.77 apiece.
