Project Description
Dyason’s Klip 1 was selected as a preferred bidder in the fourth round of the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme in April 2015.

The project forms part of Scatec Solar’s Upington solar power complex, which comprises three solar projects.

The 86 MW Sirius facility is expected to produce 217 GWh and deliver clean energy to about 40 000 households a year.

Latest Developments
Scatec Solar and partners have connected to the grid and started early commercial operation at Dyason’s Klip 1.

The solar plant will earn 60% of the tariff until the scheduled commercial operation date, which is expected in mid-March.

The last of the three solar plants under construction is expected to reach commercial operation within the next few months.
