Mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will feature prominently during virtual trade and investment entity Canada-Africa Chamber of Business’ twenty-second yearly African Mining Breakfast and in mining investment company MineAfrica’s nineteenth Investing in African Mining Seminar on March 9 and 10.

These events will take place during exploration and development organisation Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s yearly convention.

The “biggest African mining event in North America” is now virtual – a format that allows for greater flexibility, reach, and more cost-effective participation for sponsors, presenters and attendees.

The agenda for the two day event features “big picture” overviews on mining in Africa, regional focuses on Southern, Western, and Eastern Africa, and a specific spotlight on the DRC.

Diversified miner Ivanhoe Mines founder and executive co-chairman Robert Friedland and gold miner Barrick Gold president and CEO Mark Bristow, both with major projects in the DRC, are expected to speak.

Regionally-focused sessions feature a series of 15 minute presentations by African mining Ministers, mining company CEOs, service providers, and expert advisers to the mining industry.

Consulting engineers company Hatch will also present during the DRC spotlight, along with African miner Tantalex Resources, providing an update on its lithium project.

In excess of 2 000 online participants are expected over the two day event.

“We are excited about our move to an online platform this year which will dramatically expand our reach and exposure for our presenters. The biggest African mining event in North America just got bigger, virtually,” says MineAfrica president Bruce Shapiro.
