Doray confirms greenfield discovery
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Reverse circulation drilling at the Horse Well joint venture, in Western Australia, has confirmed the Dusk ‘till Dawn prospect as a significant new greenfield gold discovery, miner Doray Minerals reported on Wednesday.
Doray, in May 2014, signed a farm-in agreement with fellow-listed Alloy Resources over the Horse Well gold project that could see it earn an initial 60% in the project area by spending A$2-million up to May 2016.
Doray had already spent some A$1.75-million at the project area.
MD Allan Kelly said on Wednesday that the latest results at Dusk ‘till Dawn had enabled the exploration team to confirm the orientation and style of the gold mineralisation encountered at the prospect.
“The wide zones of mineralisation, along with favourable host rock geology and structural settings and some higher-grade gold zones, all lead us to believe that Dusk ‘till Dawn is a significant new greenfield gold discovery, but is only the first of several potential opportunities within the wider Horse Well project.”
Doray was now actively pursuing a number of additional early-stage targets within the northern end of the Horse Well project and a 15 500 m aircore drilling programme had been launched this week.
The drilling programme would test other favourable gold targets around the Dusk ‘till Dawn granite body and was expected to take some six weeks to complete.
