South Africa’s Department of Water and Sanitation has granted a water-use licence (WUL) for TSX-V-listed Diamcor Mining’s Krone-Endora at Venetia project, in Limpopo.

The WUL, which is valid for 15 years, grants the company the right to extract 410 148 m3/y of water from seven boreholes and is aimed at supporting the project’s envisioned long-term processing target of 300 000 t/m.

“The granting of the WUL marks the achieve-ment of yet another significant milestone, further derisks the project and provides us with the desired allocation of water to support the targeted design capacity of the processing facilities installed at the project for the long term,” says Diamcor CEO Dean Taylor.

He notes that the company’s focus will now shift to finalising the additional infra-structure required to support the WUL, which will be completed within the current fiscal quarter.
