PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior De Grey Mining has reported a 6.8-million-ounce maiden mineral resource for the Hemi discovery, within its larger Mallina gold project, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The Hemi resource brings the total mineral resource estimate for the Mallina project from 2.2-million ounces to 9-million ounces.

“The company has delivered on its commitment to deliver a maiden Hemi mineral resource to shareholders by mid-2021. The 6.8-mllion-ounce Hemi mineral resource is substantial and exceeds our initial expectations,” said MD Glenn Jardine.

“We are committed to increasing the resource base with ongoing drilling programmes. This achievement would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and dedication of our employees and contract personnel,” he added.

Jardine noted that project studies were ongoing to provide information to define the development and production opportunities for the resource, with a scoping study targeted for completion in the September quarter of this year.
