DA welcomes PA’s Christo Alexander to the party
This article has been supplied.
George municipality Councillor Christo Alexander has moved from the Patriotic Alliance (PA) to the Democratic Alliance (DA), a move that the DA said was “no surprise".
The DA said PA councillors are realising that their party is “all talk and no action.”
“The DA believes that the reason for this migration is that the PA is a deceitful party that lacks accountability, willingness to serve residents and that prioritises their needs over the needs of the people,” the DA averred.
The party claimed that PA deceit includes leader Gayton McKenzie “snatching away” bicycles that he donated to children in Beaufort West and “ostensibly holding onto the R3-million raised at a luxury gala dinner that was meant to improve service delivery”.
The money is still reportedly missing, the DA said.
The party also noted the immigration of PA councillors in Beaufort West ahead of the by-elections in June.
