Independent advisers Cova Advisory has opened an office in Cape Town to support further investments and exports in the Western Cape.

Cova partner Tumelo Chipfupa said this would allow the company to advise firms that wanted to invest in or expand their operations into the province.

It would be able to advise companies on government support, and tax and energy incentives and energy management and empowerment.

The company would also assist clients to assess the benefits of establishing a presence in one of the two new special economic zones located in Saldanha Bay and Atlantis.

“While a lot of existing government support tends to go to the Gauteng region, government has made clear its intention to expand more to other parts of the country, so it was natural for us to branch out, and Cape Town was an obvious first destination,” said Cova cofounder Duane Newman.

The Cape Town office would be headed by regional manager Grant Whittaker, who has 14 years of consulting experience on government incentives.
