Client
International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) Congo DR is a joint venture comprising ICTSI Group (60%) and Somobile (40%).

Project Description
The proposed container terminal project will be located on the banks of the Congo river, in Matadi, which is the main entry point for containers into the DRC, serving the greater region and the Kinshasa market.

The terminal will be completed in two phases, with the first phase expected to handle 120 000 twenty-foot equivalent units and 350 000 multiuse returnable transport packaging system. The length and capacity of the berth can, subject to demand, be doubled in Phase 2.

Phase 1 will encompass two berths, with a total length of 350 m long, which will service ship lines, importers and exporters with its modern infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment and highly skilled staff, matching international standards.

Value
Phase 1 will cost an estimated $100-million.

Duration
The facility is expected to start operations in 2015.
