Engineering components distributor Bearing Man Group (BMG) has identified a gap in various sectors for on-site maintenance services to overcome production challenges, says BMG director Dave Russell.

BMG’s total plant maintenance solutions service targets companies that need to increase productivity and enhance process plant operating reliability to make a difference to the efficiencies of every plant.

“BMG has recognised the extreme constraints of increasing energy prices, decreasing productivity, the critical skills shortage and a highly competitive economic environment,” says Russell.

Through BMG, the mining industry, among other industries, is now able to access all critical production-efficient products and services from one supplier. This results in lower production costs and higher production efficiency, giving the South African mining industry a distinct competitive advantage, he adds.

BMG’s on-site services include application design, evaluation and plant enhancement, as well as installation, troubleshooting and service-exchange contracts. The company also offers predictive, planned and breakdown maintenance, and energy and reliability studies, says Russell.

“These plant maintenance solutions ensure machine reliability, efficient maintenance procedures and increased control in breakdown situations. The company’s skilled technicians have completed health and safety training, and all BMG services adhere to company policies and procedures in terms of ISO 18001,” highlights Russell.

He adds that BMG also offers extensive training in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and materials handling disciplines, as well as predictive maintenance and component failure analysis.

The company’s services include electromechanical, electronic and hydraulic, as well as unitary and bulk materials handling installations, which are supported by troubleshooting and maintenance services.

Further, BMG provides bearings, power transmission and engineering maintenance, repair and operations installations, predictive maintenance and nonintrusive troubleshooting. This includes condition monitoring, oil analysis, energy consumption and efficiency studies, baseline measurement, recommendations and improvement suggestions, notes Russell.

Other BMG services include product-specific full maintenance service exchange contracts; shaft and open drive laser alignment; balancing and product repair; and refurbishment for large gearboxes, hydraulic rotary and linear systems.

Lubrication and filtration equipment and services, application system design and evaluation, as well as product design and project management also form part of the company’s service provision.
