Dewatering pumps and dredging specialist IPR has settled into its new master distributorship with global industrial company Atlas Copco, incorporating the global firm’s new pumps range in the Southern Africa region into IPR’s overall product and service offering.

IPR, which recently rebranded from Integrated Pumps Rental to better to reflect the company’s vision going forward, was appointed as the master distributor for Atlas Copco dewatering pumps towards the end of 2022.

The partnership, at an original-equipment manufacturer level, has enabled IPR to significantly enhance and expand its product offerings to the mining, quarrying, construction and agriculture sectors across South Africa – and the broader southern African region.

Speaking to Engineering News after months of positive growth and evolution, IPR product manager for Atlas Copco Steve Du Toit says that IPR’s customer service and quality product reputation attracted Atlas Copco as the global firm started expanding its pump division.

The flexible and agile team is driven by providing the most appropriate fit-for purpose solution and building the relationship with the customer and understanding their requirements.

“With our presence and our success in the market with customer and solution driven services, IPR was a good fit for Atlas Copco as its route-to-market,” says Du Toit, noting that the distributorship has also been well received by IPR’s customers.

IPR also hosted an Atlas Copco global team visit late in February, holding a distributors conference and practical training on its new partner’s pump range as it continues expanding into the market.

The eight-year-old IPR, already established within the dewatering pump rental market, and more recently venturing into sales, is well positioned to serve as the sole agent for Atlas Copco’s full range of dewatering pumps, including its submersible and diesel-driven skid and trailer mounted range, and pump accessories.

The company, with a full service offering for many pump brands and services in southern Africa, will offer the Atlas Copco range either for purchase or rental to new and existing customers.
