Project Description
The project entails the Stage 4 expansion of Ciprel’s existing power plant, which currently comprises five turbines with a total output of 312 MW.
The expansion will be completed in two phases.
Phase 1 involves the installation of a new gas turbine (GT)10, with an installed capacity of 111 MW.
Phase 2 entails the implementation of a combined-cycle gas turbine using GT9 (from Stage 3) and GT10 (from Ciprel 4) and connecting them to a 111 MW steam turbine. This will increase power generation capacity to 543 MW.
GT9 and GT10 will be equipped with a low-pollution combustion system – dry low NOx, or DLN. This configuration requires the abandonment of the heavy vacuum oil as backup fuel in favour of distillate diesel oil.

€250-million.
Duration
GT10 is expected to be commissioned in October 2013.
The steam turbine is expected to be commissioned in October 2015.
