JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed gold miner Central Rand Gold (CRG) nonexecutive director Miklos Salamon has tendered his resignation from the board of directors with immediate effect.

Salamon, a board member for almost seven years, felt that it was the appropriate time to step down from the board as the company had just completed its fundraising activities and was focusing on the implementation of its new growth strategy.

CRG chairperson Michael McMahon said in a statement on Tuesday that he was proud to have served alongside Salamon in various parts of the mining industry for over 20 years, pointing out that Salamon introduced him to CRG.

“I have observed at close quarters the significant contribution he has made in redirecting and stabilising the company as it has overcome its challenges in implementing its mining and metallurgical methodology.

“I and the rest of the board would like to thank him for his service and contribution to the company,” McMahon noted.
