As telecommunications group Cell C wraps up its long-awaited recapitalisation and progresses its significant turnaround programme, the mobile operator has turned to information and communication technology giant Huawei to assist with its transition into a digital lifestyle company.

A critical pillar of its three-year turnaround strategy, the recapitalisation was concluded in October, enabling the company to move forward and make the business more streamlined as a new, reinvigorated and fit-for-purpose entity to compete in the dynamic and changing telco landscape.

Cell C’s focus in the future will be on using its telco heritage to evolve into a customer-centric digital lifestyle company that offers value-for-money solutions and services by understanding the needs of its customers.

The partnership with Huawei will be key to revamping and boosting Cell C’s flexible information technology systems to enable digital services and customer experience improvements, which are at the core of the organisation’s reset into a new way of doing business.

The business support systems (BSS) transformation project and cooperation for digital service and customer experience management aim to provide end-users with an enhanced digital experience, enabling Cell C’s evolution from a traditional mobile service provider to a technology company.

Huawei will deploy a Cloud Native BSS Solution across Cell C’s different business lines and customer segments, thus improving its agility and modernising its BSS in readiness for future business roll-outs.
