JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed Caledonia Mining halted trading on the LSE on Tuesday, as the company worked to resolve issues relating to the consolidation of its shares.

The group was forced to suspend trading on the LSE after undisclosed technical challenges emerged during the company’s electronic settlement of shares.

Caledonia said trading would restart after the issue had been resolved but did not indicate when this would occur.

The company was in the process of consolidating issued and outstanding common shares on the basis of one post-consolidation common share for every ten common shares issued.

Caledonia’s shares had been expected to start trading on a post-consolidated basis on the TSX, Aim and over-the-counter QX exchanges at the opening of markets on April 14.

Trading on the TSX, as well as the financial and operational performance of the business remained unaffected, the company stated.
