Project Description
ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor operates two blast furnaces and can produce about five-million tons of raw steel a year. It produces hot-rolled sheet cold-rolled sheet and hot-dipped galvanised steel, primarily for the appliance, automotive, construction, converters, distri-bution, and pipe and tube markets. 
The project entails replacing the existing pusher furnaces with two new top- and bottom-fired walking beam furnaces. 
Each of the two furnaces will heat carbon steel slabs at a rate of 500 t/h.

Latest Developments
Andritz has received an order to supply the walking beam furnaces. The scope of supply includes the design, supply, erection supervision and commissioning of the new furnaces, as well as comprehensive training of the operating and maintenance personnel.
