Project Description
The project entails the upgrade of the Bruce Highway to six lanes, including major upgrades to both interchanges and the delivery of a new two-way western service road for local traffic between Steve Irwin Way and Tanawha Tourist Drive.

The works include transforming the Caloundra road interchange into a diverging diamond interchange (DDI), the first to be built in Australia. The DDI is a unique design for reducing traffic congestion and improving safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. It also has a smaller footprint than traditional interchange designs.
