Name of the Project
Bruce Highway upgrade – Caloundra road to Sunshine motorway.

Location
Queensland, Australia.

Client
Australian government and Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

Project Description
The project entails the upgrade of the Bruce Highway to six lanes, including major upgrades to both interchanges and the delivery of a new two-way western service road for local traffic between Steve Irwin Way and Tanawha Tourist Drive.

The works include transforming the Caloundra road interchange into a diverging diamond interchange (DDI), the first to be built in Australia. The DDI is a unique design for reducing traffic congestion and improving safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. It also has a smaller footprint than traditional interchange designs.
