Brief Description: Brewery Creek is a past-producing heap-leach gold mining operation.

Brief History: The Brewery Creek mine is a licensed brownfields heap-leach gold mine that was operated by Viceroy Minerals Corporation from 1996 to 2002. Production was undertaken from seven near-surface oxide deposits along the property's reserve trend, when the mine went into temporary closure as a result of low gold prices.

Secondary Metals/Minerals: Not stated.

Geology/Mineralisation: The Brewery Creek mine resources exhibit characteristics of epithermal-type and intrusive-related gold systems. It is generally considered to be an alkalic intrusion-associated gold deposit, as most of the mineralisation is concentrated within or proximal to the monzonites. Gold mineralisation comprises fracture-controlled quartz stockwork in siliciclastic and intrusive rocks along an east-north-east-striking, moderately south-dipping structural trend known as the Brewery Creek reserve trend. 

Reserves: Not stated.

Resources: Total indicated oxide resources as at 2019, were estimated at 22.20-million tonnes grading 1.11 g/t gold. Inferred oxide resources were estimated at 16.80-million tonnes grading 0.92 g/t gold.

Total inferred sulphide resources are estimated at 30.60-million tonnes grading 0.84 g/t gold.

Mining Method: Brewer Creek is a heap-leap operation.

Major Infrastructure and Equipment: Precious metals will be recovered from low-grade mineralised material by heap leaching. To prepare the ore for leaching, a  7 500 t/d crushing plant is planned. Crushed ore will be placed on the heap by truck and leached with a dilute cyanide solution.

Precious metals will be recovered from the leach solution by adsorption on activated carbon. The precious metals will be periodically desorbed from the activated carbon and the stripped carbon will be reactivated by an on-site kiln. Precious metals will be recovered from the strip solution by electrowinning. The product from electrowinning will be dried and smelted to produce dóre bullion, which will be shipped from the site to refiners.

The mine equipment includes front-end loaders, bulldozers, dump, water, fuel and lube, medium, low boy, welding and explosives trucks, a grader, tyre handler, a compactor and a mobile crusher.

Prospects: Golden Predator is considering the restart of heap-leach operations at the Brewery Creek mine. It is authorised to restart mining activities as defined within the quartz mining and water licences. The company intends to resume the mining and processing of licensed deposits when supported by an independent study that outlines technical and economic viability.
