Following a reshuffle of its executive body, Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) has announced changes to its board of directors, which would now comprise several of South Africa’s heavy-hitters in business.

The new board, effective from February 20, would be led by president and Stanlib chairperson Saki Macozoma, while FirstRand Bank CEO Sizwe Nxasana would occupy the deputy-president position.

Former AngloGold Ashanti CEO and member of the National Planning Commission Bobby Godsell was appointed chairperson, while senior banker and former Standard Bank CEO Jacko Maree was named deputy chairperson.

Former AngloGold Ashanti executive VP for business sustainability Thero Setiloane would occupy the role of CEO.

Additional directors included Massmart Holdings chairperson Mark Lamberti, Jay and Jayendra executive chairperson Jayendra Naidoo, Exxaro Resources CEO Sipho Nkosi, Absa Group CEO Maria Ramos and Standard Bank Group joint CEO Sim Tshabalala.
