Project Description
The project comprises the demolition of existing structures and the construction of a new multistorey multipurpose centre, which will be a new landmark in the area. The centre will house a community hall, senior citizens support, a women’s empowerment centre, childcare, social development offices, youth and skills development facilities, as well as a basketball court.
The project will include greenhouses with training rooms, and hydroponic and aquaponic facilities. The garden will extend to the roof through balconies and vertical interior spaces.
Potential Job Creation
The policy of the City of Johannesburg is to reach 30% local spend and provide access to employment opportunities for local contractors to participate in the delivery of the associated scope of work.
