The Balla Balla joint venture comprises Rutila Resources and Todd Minerals. Forge Resources Swan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rutila Resources, has been assigned as the project manager.
Project Description
The project involves the construction of a railway line and a conveyor system to link the Pilbara iron-ore project (PIOP), developed by Flinders Mines, with the proposed Balla Balla infrastructure port (BBIP). This will include the construction of:
• an estimated 40 km overland conveyor from the PIOP conveyor-feed chute to the Balla Balla infrastructure railway (BBIR) stockyard;
• the BBIR stockyard;
• an estimated 160 km railway line from the BBIR stockyard to the BBIP stockyard;
• the BBIP stockyard and conveyor;
• a borrow pit; and
• associated infrastructure and services including external access roads, communication towers and reticulated services, water supply and pipelines, accommodation camps, a workshop and laydown areas, a ballast quarry, a power supply and a landfill.
