PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior Investigator Resources has defined Australia’s latest silver project, declaring a maiden resource estimate of 5.9-million tonnes, grading 110 g/t silver at its Paris project, in South Australia.

The project is estimated to contain some 20-million ounces of silver and 38 000 t of contained lead credit.

“The maiden inferred mineral resource is an excellent start for the Paris silver deposit. As an example of a style of productive silver deposits overseas, Paris is at the forefront of an emerging new silver belt in South Australia,” said Investigator MD John Anderson.

He noted that the large initial resource, high average silver grade and shallow, potentially openpittable depth of the deposit confirmed Investigator’s expectations that Paris was a quality silver deposit with expansion potential.

“Since the first discovery holes in 2011, Investigator has continued to advance the understanding of the complex geology and exciting silver potential at Paris,” he said.

Metallurgical laboratory trials are now under way on Paris samples, with results expected soon.
