PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Aurelia Metals has declared commercial production at its Hera gold/lead/zinc mine, in New South Wales.

The junior on Tuesday noted that commissioning of all key components of the processing plant, had been completed, with the crushing circuit continuing to operate above design rates.

“The declaration of commercial production at Hera is another milestone which has been achieved with the dedication and commitment of our team,” said Aurelia MD Rimas Kairaitis.

“While we recognise commissioning has taken longer than expected, we are confident that all the issues have been identified during commissioning and that the project will continue to ramp up to design levels during the June quarter.”

First production from the Hera mine started in the September quarter of last year, and the mine poured its first gold during the month of September.

Hera is expected to produce 390 000 oz over a minimum life-of-mine of 7.3 years.
