Company Announcement - ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems reports a healthy increase in sales in the KwaZulu-Natal region within less than a year from opening its Durban branch. Sales and Marketing Representative, Geraldine van Aswegen, confirms that good orders have been secured from a cross-section of market sectors with a brilliant customer base in the health care industry in KZN.

Van Aswegen who is responsible for Durban Central and surrounds including Richards Bay, Port Shepstone, Pietermaritzburg, Harrismith, Ladysmith and Newcastle, attributes this success, particularly in the health care sector, to a number of factors: The newly-established branch, supported by expert ASSA ABLOY installation teams deliver the necessary professional, skilled back-up and after-sales service and ensure quick turnaround times. ASSA ABLOY Entrance System’s high quality, diverse product ranges meet virtually any entrance requirement, from hotels and health centres to airports and shopping centres. Thirdly, as the ‘new kid on the block’, establishing and nurturing solid customer relationships are fundamental to ensuring sustainable growth across the territory. This is an area that Geraldine is focusing on very strongly and she confirms that it is paying dividends.

One of the most popular ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems door solutions in KZN is the Besam SL500 sliding door system which features a modular, rugged design for superior strength and reliability. The system offers 20% faster opening times and the sturdy design delivers impressive performance at these higher speeds ensuring smooth, quiet operation in high-traffic flow environments typically found at entrance and exit points of hospitals, airports, retail outlets, hotels, casinos, etc.

Together with Quad Africa Electrical Engineers, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems recently completed a number of SL500 installations in the health care industries. Six slider units were installed for theatres at Life Entabeni Hospital while Westville Life Hospital required five unislide systems to service a new ward. Both customers have reported satisfaction with the SL500 system.

A further eighteen unislides were installed at Makro in Amanzimtoti and sliders were fitted at the Wimpy in Port Shepstone by Atlantic Glass and Aluminium. Van Aswegen also reports numerous successful installations in both the health care and retail sectors. With many more installations in the pipeline, Van Aswegen is confident of steadfast growth in the KZN region.

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems’ headquarters in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, together with its strategically located branches in Durban and Cape Town, is perfectly positioned to offer customers complete, world-class, end-to-end entrance solutions, from quality product supply and professional installation to a complete fast and efficient 24 hour country-wide after-service package.
