Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 110 MW solar trough plant with storage, in the Negev desert. The plant will use the latest technology and will store energy to produce electricity when required after sunset.

The electricity will be bought by the Israel Electricity Corporation over a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Value
$1.1-billion.

Duration
Construction is expected to start in 2014 once the PPA and the project financing are closed and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2017.

Latest Developments
Negev Energy, a joint venture between Abengoa and Shikun & Binui, has been named by the Israeli government as successful bidders in the build, own and transfer (BOT) tender for the CSP.
