Toronto-listed Ascot Resources has postponed its previously scheduled investor conference call as newly appointed president and CEO Jim Currie undertakes an assessment of the company’s mining operations and overall business strategy.

The company stated on Wednesday that Currie and his new management team required additional time to complete their review, citing the significance and complexity of the process.

A new date for the conference call would be announced once the review was completed and Currie was prepared to provide an update to stakeholders.

“It is critical to ensure that we provide a thorough and transparent assessment of Ascot’s operations and strategy to our shareholders,” Currie said in a statement. “I appreciate the patience of our stakeholders as I undertake this review to chart the best path forward for the company.”

Currie was appointed CEO as Ascot works to advance its Premier gold project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. The company is targeting near-term production, but faces industry-wide challenges, including cost pressures and operational efficiencies, which may factor into the ongoing assessment.

Ascot did not provide a timeline for the completion of Currie’s review, but said that a comprehensive update would be delivered in due course.
