Canadian miner Artemis Gold has reported an unplanned mill shutdown at its Blackwater mine in British Columbia after a ball mill gearbox failure.

The company said the failure occurred on March 11, resulting in a temporary production outage. A replacement gearbox is available and repairs are expected to take between eight and ten days.

Mining activities at the operation are continuing as normal while the mill remains offline.

Artemis said it would use the interruption in processing operations to complete maintenance activities that had originally been scheduled for early in the second quarter of 2026.

The outage is expected to reduce gold production for the first quarter of 2026. However, the company said it is not revising its full-year guidance at this stage.

Artemis continues to forecast gold output of between 265 000 oz and 290 000 oz for 2026 while it evaluates options to recover the lost production later in the year.
