JSE-listed AngloGold Ashanti has announced a $307-million take-up of a total of $750-million notes the company put on offer earlier this month.

The company announced on October 18 an offer to buy any and all of its outstanding 5.125% notes due in August 2022.

AngloGold aimed to refinance a portion of its existing debt through this offer, as well as a proposed offering of a new series of debt securities.

The proposed offering involves $750-million of notes due 2028, but has not been officially announced by the company yet.
