JSE-listed Anglo American on Thursday announced that it had reached an agreement to sell heavy building products supplier Tarmac Building Products to Lafarge Tarmac.

Anglo said the terms of the transaction, which was expected to close in the first half of 2014, were confidential, adding that it was subject to regulatory approvals.

Lafarge Tarmac is a 50:50 joint venture between Lafarge and Anglo American’s construction materials and services businesses in the UK.
