JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – A meeting between the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) and the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) scheduled for Friday has been postponed until Monday.

CCMA director Nerine Kahn said in a statement that AMCU officials had to attend the funerals of AMCU members on Friday.

Following the breakdown of talks between AMCU and platinum producers Anglo American Platinum, Impala Platinum and Lonmin last week, the CCMA moved to engage the parties individually in an effort to seek a resolution.

The meeting was now expected to take place at the CCMA at 11:00 on February 17.
