Construction risk management company Hill International, together with the Chartered Institute of Building, will host the inaugural African Construction Masterclass, in Johannesburg, on May 11 and 12.

Speakers would include Eskom CFO Anoj Singh and Gautrain CEO Jack van der Merwe, as well as barristers from the UK, with a focus on the subjects that most significantly impact on construction disputes at present.

The masterclass would consider the challenges being faced in the construction sector.

“The masterclass gives my colleagues, along with legal teams from around the world an opportunity to share with attendees the problems and challenges they see on a daily basis, and help them to avoid repeating the errors we see occurring,” commented Hill International director Stuart Wilks.

In addition, the masterclass would also examine the opportunities in the construction sector and focus on maximising the success by reducing risks of costly disputes.

It would also educate construction and engineering professionals on the effective and efficient management of construction contracts, dispute resolution and also examine the future of construction in the region.
