ACR appoints Nicolau nonexec director
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Former Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) CEO Neville Nicolau has been appointed nonexecutive director of Aim-listed African Consolidated Resources (ACR).
ACR noted that Nicolau’s experience would further the resources development company’s strategy of becoming a midtier multicommodity development and mining company.
“Neville is a highly experienced and respected mining professional, who brings an enormous breadth of knowledge to the ACR team at this critical time in our evolution into a development and mining company.
“His previous incarnations as CEO of Amplats and COO of AngloGold Ashanti give him an exceptional insight into the development of a resources company, and we hope to use this to leverage our position into a midtier multicommodity production company,” commented ACR CEO Craig Hutton.
The resources company has interests in gold, nickel, platinum, copper, phosphate and diamond projects in Africa.
