Renergen

Renergen is a South African renewable energy and gas company focused on the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and helium. The company is headquartered in Johannesburg and is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange. Renergen operates primarily through its Virginia Gas Project in the Free State province of South Africa, which produces both LNG and helium from onshore gas reserves. The project represents one of the few commercial helium production facilities outside the United States and is strategically significant given global helium supply constraints. Renergen's helium is extracted alongside natural gas and is marketed to medical, industrial and technology sectors where high-purity helium is essential. The company also supplies LNG as a cleaner alternative to diesel for industrial and transport applications in southern Africa. Renergen has pursued phased development of its gas assets, with Phase 1 of the Virginia Gas Project commissioned in recent years and expansion phases planned to scale production capacity. The company was founded in 2015 and has positioned itself at the intersection of energy transition and critical resource supply in Africa.
