Rand Refinery, Africa's largest refiner, partnered with Ghana's Gold Coast Refinery in January to support responsible local refining of artisanal and small-scale gold, a move the London Bullion Market Association hopes is the first of many across Africa. The refinery also delivered 1 200 educational resource packs valued at R788 532 to schools in six provinces and donated science, technology, engineering and mathematics libraries worth R463 671 to secondary schools.
