Metso

Metso is a Finnish industrial machinery and services company specialising in equipment and solutions for the mining, aggregates, and metals processing industries. The company is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, and operates globally with a significant presence in Africa, South America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Metso provides crushing, screening, grinding, and mineral processing equipment, as well as automation systems and lifecycle services for mining operations. The company serves major mining houses and contractors, supplying technology for the extraction and processing of copper, gold, iron ore, and other minerals. Metso's product portfolio includes cone crushers, jaw crushers, grinding mills, flotation cells, and thickeners, which are critical components in mineral beneficiation plants. The company also offers digital solutions and remote monitoring services to optimise plant performance and reduce downtime. Metso employs thousands of people worldwide and maintains service centres and manufacturing facilities across multiple continents. In 2020, Metso merged its minerals business with Outotec to form Metso Outotec, creating one of the world's leading suppliers of sustainable minerals and metals processing technology. The Metso name continues to be associated with flow control solutions through a separate entity, Neles, which was spun off prior to the merger. Metso was founded in 1999 through the merger of Valmet and Rauma, two Finnish engineering companies with roots dating back to the nineteenth century.
