Isuzu Motors South Africa

Isuzu Motors South Africa is a vehicle manufacturer and distributor that produces and sells Isuzu-branded commercial vehicles and bakkies in South Africa. The company is headquartered in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) in the Eastern Cape province, where it operates manufacturing and assembly facilities. Isuzu Motors South Africa is a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, the Japanese multinational corporation known for commercial vehicles and diesel engines. The company's core products include light commercial vehicles, medium-duty trucks, and bakkie models that serve the South African market and export destinations. It holds a significant position in South Africa's commercial vehicle segment, competing with other major manufacturers in the bakkie and truck categories. The company participates in the Automotive Production and Development Programme, a government incentive scheme designed to support local vehicle production and investment. Isuzu Motors South Africa contributes to employment in the Eastern Cape, one of South Africa's key automotive manufacturing hubs. The company engages in skills development and broad-based black economic empowerment initiatives as part of its operations in the country. Isuzu established its South African presence decades ago and has expanded its manufacturing footprint and model range over time to meet local demand for durable commercial vehicles.
