Gold Coast Refinery

Gold Coast Refinery is a gold refining company based in Ghana that processes precious metals to international standards. The refinery operates in Accra and serves the West African gold mining sector by refining doré and other gold-bearing materials into investment-grade bullion. It is accredited by the London Bullion Market Association, enabling it to produce gold bars that meet global trading standards and can be sold on international markets. The facility plays a strategic role in Ghana's gold value chain by allowing domestic processing of the country's mineral output rather than exporting unrefined material. Gold Coast Refinery works with artisanal, small-scale and industrial mining operations across the region to provide assaying, refining and related services. The company contributes to local value addition in one of Africa's leading gold-producing nations, where mining is a cornerstone of the economy. Its operations support government policy objectives to increase in-country beneficiation of mineral resources. The refinery competes with other African facilities such as South Africa's Rand Refinery in serving the continent's gold industry.
