There are a lot of good things about getting older.

When you’re young you want everyone to like you and to make an impression.

When you’re old you don’t give a damn.

Kate Turkington is fearless and fun, even now in her 80s. Actually, more so! From the war-worn East End in London to raising a young family in the jungles of Nigeria and then building a career as one of SA's most loved broadcasters, Kate's story is remarkable and rambunctious.

You'll laugh. You'll cry. You will cheer. And you may well be shocked.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kate Turkington is one of South Africa’s best-known broadcasters, travellers and travel writers. Her weekly Sunday night three-hour live Talk Radio 702/CapeTalk talkshow, Believe It Or Not, which came to an end in early 2013 was South Africa’s longest-running radio talkshow with the same host in the same time slot. She continues to broadcast as a regular guest on travel shows where she talks about the when, where, why, what and how of travel both locally and internationally from her vast personal experience. She also blogs for several travel websites.
