Yerevan 2 combined-cycle power plant.

Location
Yerevan, Armenia.

Project Owner/s
ArmPower, which comprises Renco and Simest (60%) and Siemens (40%).

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a new 250 MW combined-cycle power plant at the existing Yerevan power plant.

The project includes a power island, which comprises a gas turbine, a steam turbine, two generators and a heat recovery steam generator, as well as a control system.

Potential Job Creation
The project will create employment for between 1 000 and 1 200 people.

Capital Expenditure
The project is estimated at $256.1-million.

Planned Start/End Date
The project is expected to go into operation by mid-2021.

Latest Developments
Siemens has reported that it will complete the power island for the new Yerevan 2 combined-cycle power plant. The company will also operate and maintain the plant for a period of 20 years.
