The project is located on land adjacent to the former Magnox Wylfa power station, in North Wales, which is being decommissioned.

Project Description
Wylfa Newydd comprises the construction of two advanced boiling water reactors capable of generating 2.7 GW of electricity.
The project will include:
- a power station, including two nuclear reactors with a minimum generating capacity of 2 900 MW;
- a marine offloading facility;
- cooling water intake and outfall structure;
- electricity transmission infrastructure;
- other associated buildings, such as administration offices, park and ride facilities, temporary worker accommodation, and at least one logistics centre;
- construction of a temporary site campus to accommodate construction workers;
- interim waste and spent-fuel storage facilities;
- access roads; and
- measures and initiatives to manage any impacts during the construction and operation of a new power station.
Potential Job Creation
About 9 000 jobs are expected to be created during peak construction. Once complete, Wylfa Newydd will create up to 850 permanent jobs.
