Workforce Staffing - Women in Industry
Brenda Schietekat Executive PA to Managing Executive - Staffing and Outsourcing Cluster, Workforce Holdings
With a 25-year-long history with the company, Brenda’s journey through Workforce Staffing is truly exemplary. Workforce Staffing is a market leader in staffing and recruitment solutions. Starting as a fresh faced 18-year-old receptionist in 1997, she swiftly moved up the ranks with incredible speed. Brenda was promoted to branch manager at the young age of 23, quickly became area manager shortly thereafter, then once again astounded her colleagues with a move to regional manager. Currently serving as PA to Workforce’s Staffing and Outsourcing Cluster’s Managing Executive, Brenda’s wealth of experience and courage serve top management exceptionally well. Truly a woman of tremendous wealth.
Born on 11 August 1978 in Zeerust, Brenda received her Matric in Pietermaritzburg. She’s utilised a democratic management style in all her years as a leader, with an emphasis on collaboration and connection, a sharing of responsibilities, whilst retaining final resolution. Her incredibly swift movement through the ranks is an accomplishment she views as a personal best. It was made possible through her personal mantra of “Be brave, take risks, nothing can substitute experience.”
Brenda’s incredible journey has a truly inspirational message for fellow female leaders. “Courage has been critical to my success, it enabled me to take on responsibilities that should’ve been beyond my age and experience. This positioned me for leadership roles early in my life. Courage related to my self-esteem, my sense of worth, my beliefs and attitude to life, if you have all of these then you too can find enough courage to extend yourself beyond your comfort zone and succeed.”
