Winsome discovers new lithium zone outside Adina resource

Australia-listed Winsome Resources has discovered a new zone of high-grade mineralisation about 200 m outside the current 59-million-tonne resource at its Adina project, opening up the potential scale of its lithium deposit in Quebec.

Results from AD-24-170, drilled to the south-west of Adina Main, have returned a result of 61.5 m at 1.62% lithium oxide (Li20),  including 24 m at 2.82% Li2O.

Further drilling is under way around the hole to explore the scale and orientation of the new pegmatite zone.

In addition, Winsome is progressing work on an update to the mineral resource at Adina, which will feed into project studies for the resource. The studies will also look into the new Renard processing and infrastructure opportunity, MD Chris Evans said.

Winsome recently announced it had secured an exclusive option to acquire, at its election, the assets comprising the Renard diamond mine, processing facility and associated infrastructure or all of the issued capital in Stornoway.

Renard includes several processing stages which could be used for a lithium processing operation, including the crushing, ore sorting and dense media separation circuits, as well as existing permits and approvals for mining and processing which could potentially advance and derisk the permitting process for Adina.
