WINDS OF CHANGE:

2nd February 2018

The countenances of South Africans are turning towards the winds of change that they see building up positively, and hope is beginning to show in their expressions as changes are made at embattled electricity utility Eskom and long-awaited enforcement is implemented against blatant corruption. “The difference between captured South Africa of December and hopeful South Africa of January is like night and day,” the HuffPost says. That hopefulness is also showing itself in the mining sector, where South Africa’s reputation as an investment destination is in urgent need of repair. One hopes mining law reform will be the next item on the agenda of the winds of change and that it becomes yet another example, in the words of the HuffPost, of South Africa pulling itself back from the brink in remarkable style.
