The 322 MW project will be the largest onshore wind farm in the Netherlands and the largest community-owned wind farm in Europe.
The project involves the construction of 83 new turbines to replace more than 200 existing wind turbines in the same area.
The project will generate almost three times more energy using half the number of turbines.
The wind farm will avoid the emission of about 500 000 t/y of carbon dioxide.
