Location
The project is situated at the Lake Way project, in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.
Client
Salt Lake Potash.
Project Description
Salt Lake plans to construct a pond system to dewater the Williamson pit, at the Lake Way project.
The Williamson pit has a Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant mineral resource of 1.26 Gℓ of brine, at an average sulphate of potash (SoP) grade of 25 kg/m3.
Under an agreement with owner Blackham Resources, Salt Lake will dewater the pit ahead of Blackham re-entering the pit for mining.
The Williamson operation will be the first operational-scale SoP evaporation ponds built on a salt lake in Australia; the ponds are an important part of the staged derisking and development of the Lake Way project, as well as across the Goldfields Salt Lake.
