SANY  (0.06 MB)

An aggregate and readymix supplier based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal has taken delivery of two SANY SYL956 five-ton front-end loaders (FELs) from Goscor Earth Moving (GEM) as part of its ongoing expansion programme.

The SANY machines are ideal for this rugged application at Wearne Quarries Natal, combined with the dedicated aftermarket support and technical back-up provided by GEM in Durban, which gives the client complete peace-of-mind and maximum uptime and productivity of its equipment.

Featuring a Tier 3 Cummins QSL8.9 engine for strong power, high efficiency, and large displacement, the SANY SYL956 features multipoint fuel injection for immediate throttle response, enhanced fuel efficiency, and reduced noise.

The DANA axis-shift transmission with electronic control system allows for automatic shifting, while the high-pressure load-sensitive hydraulic system provides the perfect match between speed and power, delivering a 10% to 15% energy saving for increased cost-effectiveness and return on investment.

GEM Sales Consultant Murray Leith explains that the SANY machines were delivered end May, and have already undergone their first 250-hour service by a technician dispatched from GEM Durban, which is the regional hub for KwaZulu-Natal. Such has been the success of the FELs to date that the client is considering acquiring larger machines in the near future, Leith reveals.

The main application for the SANY SYL956s at Wearne Quarries Natal’s Pietermaritzburg quarry is for one machine to load material onto articulated dump trucks, while the second supplies the on-site crushing plant.

“This is a strategic client for us, as it has definite growth plans, having just taken on a Chinese partner. We have already established a sound relationship, and look forward to helping them expand in future,” Leith concludes. A definite advantage for GEM is that it is able to assist such up-and-coming clients with long-term rent-to-purchase agreements underwritten by Goscor Finance.
