Project Description
The WTE project will be based at Viridor’s existing rail-linked Oxwellmains waste treatment hub, in Dunbar, East Lothian.
The project will be able to process up 38 t/h of municipal waste and will help the Scottish government meet the ambitious target of landfilling zero biodegradable municipal waste
by 2021.

The plant is scheduled to go online in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Latest Developments
A consortium comprising B&W Vølund (BWV) and Interserve has been selected to design and build the planned WTE project.
BWV’s scope accounts for more than two-thirds of the contract value and includes two WTE boilers, the fuel combustion system, the steam turbine and the dry flue-gas cleaning system.
The consortium will also test and commission the plant.
