Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 50 MW power plant using refuse accumulated at Repi, on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, as feedstock.

The power plant will use about 350 000 t of solid waste.

Value
$120-million, which will be financed by the Ethiopian government.

Duration
The plant is expected to take ten months to complete.

Latest Developments
EEPCo has signed a contract with UK firm Cambridge Industries Energy for the turnkey construction of the waste-to-energy plant.
